Contest from 2 seats

The Bharatiya Janata Party is politically not honest in assailing the Congress and its President Mr Rahul Gandhi for the decision to seek Lok Sabha election from two seats, the Amethi of Uttar Pradesh and Wayanad of Kerala.

The BJP is ridiculing him that fearing his defeat in Amethi he has runaway to Wayanad for safe return. It is not a ancient history of India but in the last Lok Sabha election of 2014 Mr Narendra Modi himself contested from two Lok Sabha seats the Vadodra of Gujarat and Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh. He was elected from both the seats and resigned from his home state Gujarat seat of Vadodra.

Earlier to that the Bharatiya Janata Party starwart Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee also contested for Lok Sabha from two seats the Vidisha of Madhya Pradesh and Lucknow of Uttar Pradesh. He won both and vacated Vidisha seat and in the bye-election Mr Shivraj Singh Chauhan was elected to the Lok Sabha.

When the BJP leaders contested from 2 seats for them it was alright but when other do it, they term it as running away because of the fear of defeat.

In the on going elections to the Lok Sabha the non serious and ridiculous issues are being projected as vital issues. All the “words” are used in particular reference to contest and understood that way. These days the word “chokidar” (watchman) has become a catch word on the election campaigns.

The speeches are based on this word, rallies and posters are issued by both the main contestants the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress. It is totally absurd on the part of both parties behaving like a quarreling children teasing each others.

On the plea of providing the employment now appears that it was also a “Jumla” of Mr Narendra Modi in the last general election. It is not suffice and convincing to say the jobs were provided. They should pin point it in which sectors new jobs were created and number of youth were employed.

Mr Rahul Gandhi is specific and appears to be realistic when he said if Congress elected to power it would fill up all the vacant posts lying almost in all the departments of the Government. It is rough estimate that there are about 50,000 sanctioned posts of the government departments, that are vacant and work and efficiency the government services like railways were neglected.

In the election different yard stick should not be used to judge political opponents. It is utter political dishonesty.
