Parcel with valuables worth Rs 25 lakh stolen from bus
tnn | Apr 3, 2019, 04:00 ISTRajkot: An Ahmedabad-based angadiya (courier) firm’s employee was robbed of cash and valuables worth Rs 25 lakh when he was on his way to Bhuj from Rajkot in a GSRTC bus on Tuesday.
Angadiya firm owner Nikunj Parekh’s complaint with the Maliya Miyana police stated, his employee Rohitgiri Goswami was to deliver a parcel containing gold and silver ornaments and cash worth Rs 25 lakh at Bhuj.
About half past midnight on Monday, the bus halted at Madhav Hotel. Goswami got down for tea leaving the parcel in the bus. Goswami said he saw two men getting down from the bus with his parcel, and fleeing in a car. Police suspect the accused were aware of Goswami’s movement and what he was carrying.
