“The Echo Show (2nd Gen) has ‘premium’ speakers with Dolby Audio and a built-in camera for video calling”
The Amazon Echo Show (2nd Gen) has been launched in the Indian market, joining the Echo Dot, Echo, Echo Plus, Echo Spot, and Echo Sub. Unlike the original Echo Show (which didn’t make its way to India), the second-generation model boasts of a bigger display, and speakers with Dolby processing for “crisp and stereo sound.” Of course, the device is powered by Amazon’s AI virtual assistant Alexa and can display videos, song lyrics, host video calls, etc on the screen. More importantly though, it does away with the need to install smart home hubs for your smart devices and plugs.

Amazon Echo Show (2nd Gen) specifications
Coming to the specifications, the Amazon Echo Show (2nd Gen) comes with a fabric design and a wide 10.1-inch HD display up front for streaming movies, videos and TV shows. The speaker also has eight microphones that listen to the trigger word ‘Alexa’ — the AI voice assistant that’s always at your command and can pull off tasks such as playing music or videos, or checking weather forecasts. The microphones will work even when the music is playing, thanks to built-in far-field technology.
The Echo Show also features a 5-megapixel front camera for video calling to friends and family who have Skype, the Alexa app, and an Echo Spot or Echo Show. You can also make voice calls, send messages, or instantly connect to other devices in your home to make a quick announcement or check in on the kids.
The smart home control rounds up the specifications of the Amazon Echo Show. As mentioned above, the device comes with an integrated smart home hub, so you don’t need to install dedicated hubs for all your smart home products. Instead, simply say “Alexa, discover my devices” and the digital assistant will do the needful. It will be able to control a host of smart home devices, including security cameras, TVs, lights, plugs, and air conditioners. Alexa also has thousands of skills that you can use on the new Echo Show model the same way as any other Echo device, using just voice commands.
