One arrested for murder over property brokerage
tnn | Apr 3, 2019, 04:00 ISTSurat: Crime branch sleuths nabbed a 30-year-old man for murdering a 35-year-old resident of Bharimata here on Tuesday. The accused hit a pipe on the forehead of the victim which led to his death on the spot. There was a dispute over brokerage in a property deal between the two.
Police arrested Praful Arun Nathjogi alias Marathi (30), for the alleged murder of Dipak More. The accused stopped More saying he wanted to talk to him and when the victim got off his scooter, Nathjogi hit him with an iron rod. Police registered an offence at Lalgate police station and arrested the accused from the city. More’s body was found lying on Singanpore Causeway Road with his scooter nearby. He was attacked when there was not much public movement on the road, at around 8am. He was returning after dropping his son at a tuition class.
Family members of the victim told police that More had developed some dispute with Nathjogi. “The accused had some dispute over brokerage in a property deal with More. Nathjogi, a property broker, believed More was trying to snatch away his clients,” a crime branch official said.
