Pune: A man from Bhavani Peth suffered burn injuries on his hand after his wife threw boiling oil on him on Saturday evening.

After hurling the utensil containing boiling oil, his wife fled. The man Imran Saleem Shaikh lodged a complaint with the police after which his wife was booked for voluntarily causing grievous injury.

Rajendra Mokashi, the senior inspector of Khadak police, said, “Shaikh works in a shop and is wife is a homemaker. The couple have two children.” They would keep arguing but this was the first time it resulted in violence.

The woman was cooking and had kept the utensil on the stove. She and her husband got into an argument. The man then neglected his wife and went to have a bath. As soon as Shaikh got out, his wife threw the oil on him. He screamed and the residents nearby gathered at the spot. They rushed him to a nearby hospital.
