Maharashtra minister Vinod Tawde on Tuesday asked the Congress to declare its prime ministerial candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
"Prithviraj Chavan is a highly educated man, who studied in a foreign university. If you have done a study on the political situation of the country, you should openly say who will be the next prime minister," he said.
Tawde said the manifesto of the Congress will have no meaning unless the party defines who it means when it talks about "we will deliver".
The 55-page manifesto of the party is titled 'Hum Nibhayenge' (We will deliver).
"When talking about 'Hum Nibhayenge' the Congress should make it clear who it is talking about. Is it Mayawati, Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav, Chandrababu Naidu or leaders of Kerala and Tamil Nadu? Unless they make it clear who will fulfil all these promises, the manifesto will have no relevance," he said.
Tawde further said Modi's criticism of NCP chief Sharad Pawar has caused tremors in that party and therefore, its leader Supriya Sule said the prime minister does not have the experience of having a family.
"While talking about Modi ji's family, she is forgetting Modi ji has a brother, who has children. It is for all to see how he behaves with the children of his brother, unlike the family feud in the NCP," he said.
