Varanasi: BHU student shot at on campus

Image used for representational purpose onlyVARANASI: A student of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) was shot at by some unknown assailants on the campus on Tuesday evening. He was rushed to the Trauma Centre for treatment. City police have launched a manhunt to nab the assailants.
According to reports, Gaurav Singh, an MCA student, was crossing through the Birla Hostel on the university campus when three youths on a motorcycle opened fire on him and fled from the scene. Gaurav sustained bullet injury on his stomach. He was immediately rushed to the Trauma Centre located near the university campus.
Panic prevailed on the campus after the shootout. The police swung into action after getting information.
BHU spokesperson Rajesh Singh said the matter was being investigated by police.
