IPL 2019, KXIP vs DC Team Predicted Playing 11: Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Capitals come into Match 13 of the Indian Premier League 2019 season on the back of wins at home. KXIP beat Mumbai Indians by 8 wickets and DC triumphed over Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday. Both teams have won two and lost one from three games and a win tonight could propel them to top of the IPL points table.

In their previous outing, KL Rahul found form to score 71 from 57 balls to steer KXIP to 177 run target. In the capital, however, things went past midnight with DC beating KKR in the Super Over – the first of the season.

IPL 2019: KXIP vs DC Team News

Delhi Capitals win the toss, elect to bowl first

Avesh Khan is in for Amit Mishra for Delhi. No Chris Gayle or Andrew Tye for Kings XI. Big blows for them even before the match started.

Prithvi Shaw

Throwing spinners at him seems to be an obvious tactic. Before scoring 99, Shaw was dismissed by spin in his five previous innings. Delhi's young guns are the big ones - Shaw and Rishabh Pant - and if KXIP are able to negate their threat, they are halfway there.

The pace department

Kings XI have names like Mohammed Shami and Andrew Tye in their pace battery but, compared to the way the Capitals' pacers have stepped up, KXIP still have some way to go. Anybody who loves cricket would have admired that over that Kagiso Rabada bowled in the Super Over against KKR.

Team news - KXIP

Kings XI Punjab opted against going for a practice session on the eve of the match. In the previous game, Murugan Ashwin had come in. Expect an unchanged side barring any injury concerns.

Win toss, bat first

Since 2014, only four of 14 games have been won by team batting second. Mayank Agarwal said the pitch got better to bat under the lights but there will be no such advantage this time around.

Numbers speak

Overall: Matches – 22, Kings XI Punjab – 13, Delhi Capitals – 9.

In Mohali: Matches – 6, Kings XI Punjab – 5, Delhi Capitals – 1.

Pre-match talk

Mike Hesson is taking confidence from the previous win as KXIP get ready to play DC today.

Previous game - DC

In their home game against KKR, Delhi Capitals made things tricky for themselves but crossed the finishing line in dramatic fashion. Chasing 186 to win, DC needed just six runs in the final over but Kuldeep Yadav bowled a fantastic last over to force a Super Over. There, it was the turn of Kagiso Rabada to turn hero for DC and bag a win. [Highlights]

Previous game - KXIP

In their first home game of the season in Mohali, KXIP were asked to chase 177 runs from MI helped by a strong start and then a cameo by Pandya. In reply, KXIP had a fifty run opening wicket stand of their own. Krunal played a 43-run knock in the middle. But it was KL Rahul who played a key role in the win. [Highlights]

Pre-match talk

KL Rahul after MI game: "I just wanted to give myself enough time. Chris is striking the ball beautifully, so it allows me to play a few dot balls."

Last night in the IPL

On Sunday, in the double header, Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered another miserable defeat - at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Later in the night, Chennai Super Kings eked out a narrow win over Rajasthan Royals
