Three policemen suspended for refusing to file molestation complaint

Pimpri: One Assistant Police Inspector and two policemen attached to Chikhali Police Station have faced suspension for avoiding to register a complaint of molestation of a 14-year-old girl under the POCSO Act.

Pimpri-Chinchwad Commissioner of Police (CP) RK Padmanabhan has issued suspension orders to Assistant Police Inspector Nilesh Jagdale and policemen Dattatray Malvadkar and Rajendra Kirve for dereliction of duty.

Father of the 14-year-old molestation victim tried to register a complaint a number of times. But the policemen had refused to register a complaint. After several tries, failing to receive any response from the police, the father approached Padmanabhan, after which an immediate order to lodge an FIR was given.

The CP has taken immediate action and has suspended three policemen, while three others have been attached to the police control room.
