Man arrested for attempt to murder
TNN | Apr 2, 2019, 04:40 ISTCoimbatore: A 23-year-old wall painter was arrested for attempting to murder a man over a drunken brawl on early Sunday morning at Telungupalayam here. Another person is absconding in connection with the case.
The injured person was identified as M Santhosh, 23, a call taxi driver from Telungupalayam. Police said he suffered stab injuries on his abdomen and back. He was admitted at the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital. His condition is said to be stable. The Selvapuram police said Santhosh and his friends U Kannadasan, 23, and Arun, both wall painters from Chetty street, had consumed liquor on March 30 night. The next day around 2.30am, they were walking on the street near the house of Santhosh.
Santhosh was disrespected by his two friends and he fought with them. The neighbours of Santhosh intervened and pacified them. Kannadasan and Arun left the place immediately. Later, the duo returned to Telungupalayam where they stabbed Santhosh on his abdomen and back and fled from the scene. Negibours took Santhosh to CMCH. tnn
