Emphasising that the mood of the nation was firmly with the BJP, party president Amit Shah said he is confident that Narendra Modi would be re-elected as Prime Minister in two months' time, this time with a massive mandate that's even bigger than what they achieved in 2014.

Shah, speaking to Zee News editor-in-chief Sudhir Chaudhary at the 'India ka DNA' conclave in the Capital on Monday, said BJP workers will go to every house to "ensure a massive win". The party will especially improve its performances in West Bengal, Odisha and other parts of the country, Shah said.

Calling voters the "owners of their votes", Shah said the party will also defeat Congress from the latter's perceived strongholds. "Winning Amethi looks difficult for Rahul Gandhi this time," he added.

The Modi government has strengthened the security of the nation, he added, asking citizens to think about national security, as it should be a top election agenda. He also said India has become a global power under PM Modi. "The Prime Minister's personality is about taking tough and quick decisions," he said.

Elaborating on the airstrikes conducted on terror camps in Balakot in Pakistan, Shah said India is the third country after USA and Israel to avenge attacks on its soldiers.

Drawing parallels between the BJP's 'Chai pe Charcha' campaign in 2014 and its 'Main bhi Chowkidar' campaign this time, he said, "The word 'chaiwala' was used to mock Narendra Modi. But those who live in ivory towers have no idea of what's happening on the ground. Because Modiji was abused, the entire country came forward and declared they are also 'chowkidars'."

He also spoke of the term 'Hindu terror', saying it's a terminology manufactured by the Congress party. "Rahul Gandhi had spoken about Hindu terror to the American envoy. He said Lashkar-e-Taiba isn't a problem, but Hindu terror is. There is nothing called Hindu terror. Today, the world is talking about Pakistan sponsored terrorism. This is BJP's achievement," he said.
