AHMEDABAD: A 23-year-old woman on Friday filed a complaint with Satellite police stating that she was assaulted by a man, with whom she was into relationship, and his mother who suspected her of “stalking”.

According to the FIR filed with Satellite police by Pooja Barot, a resident of Thaltej, she was in relationship with a man, Jignesh Barot. In February 2018, Jignesh had taken some money from Pooja’s father for his sister’s marriage. But when she demanded the money back, he denied returning it. After which, their relationship turned sour.

“On Friday evening, Pooja went to Shivranjani Crossroads for some personal work on her two-wheeler. When she was returning from Shivranjani towards her home at Thaltej, Barot, who was already waiting there in his car, stopped Pooja and asked on why she was stalking him. When Pooja denied that, he slapped her twice. At that time, Jignesh’s mother Usha also rushed there and assaulted Pooja,” said the FIR.

The complainant said that the man had also broken her cellphone. Some people rescued Pooja and then she filed a complaint of assault and criminal intimidation with Sabarmati police.
