Tollywood lyricist Ramajogaiah to receive Sahiti Puraskaram

Tollywood lyricist Ramajogaiah SastryGUNTUR: Noted Tollywood lyricist Ramajogaiah Sastry will receive the prestigious annual Ugadi Sahiti Puraskaram instituted by renowned cultural organisation Sahiti Samakhya.
Another tollywood lyricist and Padma awardee Sirivennela Sitaramasastry will present the Sahiti Puraskaram. The award presentation function and Sahiti Vasantotsvam will be held on Telugu new year (ugadi) day at Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram on April 6.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Sahiti Samakhya general secretary SVS Lakshminarayana said that former DGP M Malakondaiah would preside over the glittering literary festival which tobacco board secretary Addanki Sridhar Babu would also attend.
“We have decided to confer the prestigious Vikari Sahiti Puraskarm on Ramajogaiah Sastry, noted lyricist,” he explained.
He said that Padma awardee lyricist and mentor of Ramajogaiah, Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry had also consented to grace the literary festival and present the award. Interestingly, Sirivennela received the Sahiti Puraskaram in the past.
He said that a Kavi Sammelanam would be held on the occasion. He said that Sirivennela, Ramajogaiah, Tata Sandeep Sarma, Dr Narasimha Reddy, Dr PV Ramkumar and Dr DN Dikshit and young writer Sanjana Padmam would take part in the kavi sammelanam.
