Jupiter’s moon Europa has been a popular place for some scientists who think life may exist under its icy surface.
????And even though NASA’s proposed Europa Clipper mission could launch as early as 2023, the Europa Lander mission would really be able to get to the bottom of the mystery.
????Should NASA decide to go through with the mission, the lander would be its own spacecraft and give scientists a much more powerful analysis of the icy world.????Researchers at NASA told Space.com that the Europa Clipper could do habitability pretty well, but to look for biosignatures and signs of life you need to touch the surface.????The now two-part mission would have the Clipper find a good landing site and once the Europa Lander arrives, would drill into the ice to begin its analysis.
????Scientists on the project say that NASA is currently weighing if the mission will fit into its budget.????But they also say that discovering life on Europa would mean we have found the origins of life twice in our solar system.????And if that’s the case, researchers say that there has to be life elsewhere in the universe.
