NEW DELHI: The
Competition Commission of India will hold back for now a probe into alleged anti-competition trade practices of the Indian arm of the agri-business giant
Monsanto. The self-imposed
embargo will continue till April 24, the next date of hearing, the
Supreme Court was told.
The CCI had initiated a probe against the company and the role of its officials and directors following a complaint by several local seed companies led by
Nuziveedu Seeds. The
Delhi High Court had on December 18, 2018 refused to stay the CCI order seeking information about the alleged anti-competitive practices by the company. Monsato then appealed the order in the top court.
