MANGALURU: Actor Sumalatha Ambareesh, who visited Sri Kshetra Dharmastala on Monday, told reporters that people will give a befitting reply to those who are engaged in propaganda against her.
Sumalatha, after having darshan of Lord Manjuatha, the presiding deity at the temple, also sought blessings of Sri Kshetra Dharmastala dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade.
“I don’t want to comment on it (anti-propaganda). People will give befitting reply to all of them in the election,” she said.
On disputes revolving around the validation of nomination papers of JD(S) candidate in Mandya, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, son of chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, the actor-turned politician said she will consult legal experts.
“We will consult legal experts and take a decision on future course of action later. We will fight it within the framework of law,” she said.
Reacting sharply against namesakes contesting in Mandya, Sumalatha said, “such instances were reported during previous elections too. I am not a person who is new to the people here. People of the entire state know me. I have confidence that people will elect me,” she said.
Recalling her previous visit to Dharmastala two years ago, Sumalatha said, “I have come here and offered prayers considering the faith Ambareesh had with this temple,” she said.
Sumalatha said her campaign will be intensified from Tuesday along with colleagues from Sandalwood fraternity.
“Darshan and Yash are campaigning for me. I will be actively campaigning from Tuesday,” she added.
