An encounter started between terrorists and security forces in Lassipora region of Pulwama in wee hours of the morning. 4 terrorists have been repeatedly killed and the search is still going on for finding any remaining terrorists. 3 security personnel have been injured in the gun battle. As per ANI, the terrorists belonged to Laskar-e-Taiba. Forces have recovered 2 AK rifles, 1 SLR and 1 pistol from the terrorists.
Srinagar-based Defence spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia said, "Four terrorists have been eliminated in Pulwama operation". The encounter to flush out any remaining terrorists is still underway. This was a joint operation of 55 Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF. The encounter started around 4 AM after the terrorists opened fire when security forces challenged them. Forces are yet to ascertain the identity of the dead terrorists.
