NEW DELHI: A special CBI court granted anticipatory bail on Monday to Robert Vadra, brother-in-law of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, saying no allegation of tampering with evidence or influencing witnesses had been made against Vadra in the present case of money laundering being pressed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Vadra, who was granted the reprieve on a personal bond of Rs 5 lakh, was asked not to leave the country without the court's permission and to join the investigation when summoned. His aide Manoj Arora, a co-accused in the case, was also granted anticipatory bail on a personal bond of the same amount. Both had been on interim bail.
