Despite still officially being in the exploratory phase of a 2020 run, Pete Buttigieg became the first Democratic hopeful to announce the first quarter funds raised for his campaign.????On Twitter, the South Bend, Indiana mayor announced he and his team pulled in over $7 million in contributions.????“Mayor Pete’s” run for the White House has largely been viewed as an underdog campaign from the outset…????...with Buttigieg in a statement saying not many people knew who he was when the campaign kicked off…????But added “With a first fundraising report like this, we certainly cannot be ignored.”????Buttigieg’s bucks pale in comparision to the roughly $6 million both Beto O’Rourke...????...and Bernie Sanders raised in the opening 24 hours of their campaigns…????...but more importantly at this stage, The Hill reports that Buttigieg has surpassed the amount of individual donations required to reach the stage for the Democratic National Party’s opening debate.
