PM Modi indulges in ‘golmaal’ talk, confuses voters: K Chandrasekhar Rao

HYDERABAD: TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a face-to-face debate on what the Centre had done for development of Telangana. “All that Narendra Modi indulges in is ‘golmaal’ talk to confuse people. I challenge him for a debate with me. Let him come to Mahbubnagar itself where he came recently to spread lies and talk falsehood,” Chandrasekhar Rao said on Sunday.

Addressing a huge public meeting to campaign for the party’s Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha candidate Manne Srinivas Reddy, KCR said he is confident that the margin of victory for TRS would be three lakh votes.

In his 50-minute speech, KCR predicted that after results of Lok Sabha elections are out, there would be a polarisation of regional parties, and it is they who would form the government at the Centre. “BJP and Congress, and their allies put together will not win more than 250 seats, and even if they join hands, they will not be able to form the government at the Centre,” KCR said.

“I will create tremors in Delhi. This is for sure and you will see after the elections,” KCR said, confident of the TRS winning all 16 seats it is contesting in the state.

KCR said BJP is spreading lies and false even on social media. He said that while the Telangana state government spends Rs 11,800 crore to give pensions to 47 lakh people, the amount that the Centre gives is only Rs 203 crore, which was for only 6.66 lakh beneficiaries for old-age pensions.

“When this is the reality, BJP is using social media to propagate that the Centre’s contribution is Rs 800 out of Rs 1,000 for old-age pension when the reality is it gives only Rs 200 and for a limited number of people,” he said.

KCR also brought pen drives to be given away to media persons with speeches of Narendra Modi on what he promised to do in 2014 elections, and how he practically did nothing for the country. Among the speeches there is one where Modi promised to take up irrigation projects in Mahbubnagar and criticised Congress president Rahul Gandhi for not having done anything. KCR said that despite his promise, Modi had not given any funds for the Palamur Lift irrigation project.

“I advise Modi to come to Telangana to learn from us on how to undertake development,” he said. He also criticised Congress for lack of vision in developing the country.

“The BJP is scared of me. And that is why they make personal attacks against him. When he addressed a public meeting in Mahbubnagar, which had less than 10% gathering to what is here today. Modi spoke like a gram panchayat secretary. As Prime Minister, could he not have spoken about he would do for the country?” he asked.
