Two men rushed to hospital after separate stabbings in Melbourne
Two men have been seriously injured after they were stabbed in separate incidents overnight.
In Noble Park just after 9pm on Sunday night, a large brawl between two groups involving at least 15 people erupted near the train station.
The fight on Douglas Street led to a man being stabbed twice in the upper body. The offenders fled the scene.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was then driven to an ambulance station where he received medical treatment and was taken to The Alfred hospital in a serious condition.
Then, a few hours later, an altercation took place on Blake Street in Blackburn North.
Police believe the victim in that incident was stabbed several times to the upper body about 5.45 am.
The man, aged in his 30s, walked to a nearby restaurant on Springfield Road where he was able to get help. He was taken by road ambulance to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition with upper body injuries.
Springfield Road is closed both directions between Middleborough Road and Blake Street due to the police investigation.
Drivers are urged to avoid to the area for the rest of the morning.
