Six dead on Queensland roads this weekend

Three men were found dead in a flipped semi-submerged car in far north Queensland, in what has been a horror weekend on Queensland roads.

A fourth man, who had been trapped inside the car, was air-lifted to Townsville Hospital with critical injuries after a passing motorist found the car upside down in a river on Tully Gorge Road, between Cairns and Townsville.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene just after 1pm on Saturday, but could not save the three men, aged in their 20s. The sole survivor was a 19-year-old.

In a separate crash on Saturday morning, two people died after a head-on collision near Rockhampton.

Police are also investigating the death of a male motorcyclist on Friday evening at Logan, near Brisbane.

The 27-year-old rider, from Yarrabilba in Logan, died after his bike collided with a truck.
