3 candidates file papers in Dharwad
TNN | Mar 31, 2019, 09:00 ISTDHARWAD: Three candidates filed four sets of nomination papers on Friday, the second day of filing of nominations. No nomination papers were filed on Thursday.
Gangadhar Badiger filed his nomination papers as the candidate of the Socialist Unity Centre of India- Communist, while Santosh Vithalrao Nandur as the candidate of Uttama Prajakiya Paksha and Raju Anantsa Naikwadi as an Independent. Badiger submitted two sets of papers, others one each.
Later Badiger said, “The agriculture sector here has received a severe setback from last seven years following drought. Farmers are in distress. There is severe shortage of drinking water and fodder for cattle. Unemployment too is on the rise. The elected representatives of the region have failed to address these problems and if elected I will try to resolve them.”
