Mumbai Crime Branch sleuths have arrested a man who was allegedly wanted in an extortion case since 1991. The arrested person has been identified as Vivek Narayan Rukaiyya alias Vicky. According to police, in 1991, a case of extortion was registered by the Jogeshwari police station against Rukaiyya, who was 28-year-old then. Rukaiyya had absconded ever since the case was registered.

Officers from the Andheri unit of Crime Branch received a tip off that Rukaiyya was hiding in Bhayander east. The police kept a watch on his movement outside his Hanuman Nagar residence in Bhayander.
