Off duty officer & couple saved drowning boyAuthorities say the stars aligned... as a quick- thinking couple and off-duty officer saved a boy from drowning. The incident happened around 3:30 this afternoon at an indoor pool in the tomah area. According to the tomah police department... a husband and wife saw the incident and were able to get the child out of the water. While the man ensured 9-1-1 was called.... the woman and an off-duty police officer started life- saving measures to revive the child. The la crosse police department says sergeant phil martin...a ten year veteran of the department... was the officer that sprang into action. The child was taken to a local emergency room before being transported by gundersenair as a precautionary measure. He is expected to be ok. The tomah police department is commending the actions of all involved. | |||||
