A 19-year-old youth was stabbed to death in Rohini Sector 3 on Friday night following an argument with two scooty-borne men unknown to the victim, the police said on Saturday.
A senior police officer privy to the case said the victim, identified as Vardaan and a resident of Vijay Vihar, had come to Rohini Sector 3 with his friend to meet another friend . “Vardaan and Vinay had gone to meet their friend Kunal. They were outside Kunal’s house when two men came on a scooty,” the officer said.
The police said that an argument ensued between Vardaan and the two men which turned violent.
The officer said that the reason behind the argument is being investigated but said that the two parties were unknown to each other. When asked if it was a case of road rage, the officer reiterated that the matter is under investigation.
“As the argument turned violent, the two men hit Vinay with a stone on his head after which they pulled out a knife and stabbed Vardaan four times before fleeing,” the officer said.
The police said that Vinay and Kunal rushed Vardaan to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital where he was declared dead.
