Noida: Satveer Nagar, the candidate representing the BSP-SP-RLD alliance, met farmers in Sikandrabad area of Gautam Budh Nagar Lok Sabha constituency on Friday. Nagar met them at 10 different spots across Sikandrabad division.

“Farmers turned out in huge numbers in each of the 10 places. The common complaint in these areas is lack of employment opportunities for farmers and their children. The farmers said that while Gautam Budh Nagar has a sizeable presence of industries, these do not employ the local villagers. With most farmers having lost their land to acquisition, their scope has now become limited,” Satveer Nagar said.

Nagar started his visit around 1 pm and it continued till late in the evening on Friday.

In neighbouring Ghaziabad, the SP-BSP candidate, Suresh Bansal, has been banking on traders upset with the implementation of the GST and demonetisation to garner votes.
