Engine derails at Vadodara railway station

Vadodara: A diesel locomotive derailed at the Vadodara railway station on Saturday. The incident took place while readying the engine for an arriving train. According to railway officials, the locomotive was to power the Nizamuddin-Thiruvananthapuram Express. The electric locomotive of the train is replaced by a diesel locomotive at Vadodara.

An official said that two wheels of the engine got derailed when it was changing tracks. The track was closed for train movement and one train had to be diverted to a different platform in wake of the incident. Another diesel locomotive was brought to replace the one that was derailed. The train to be hauled by the derailed locomotive was not delayed due to the incident, the official said.tnn
