Ambala police solve seven snatching cases, two held

AMBALA: With the arrest of two Mohali-based snatchers, a team of crime investigation agency-I of the district police has managed to solve seven cases of snatching.

The accused had been actively snatching gold chains, purses, mobile phones and other things from the residents since December last year. The in-charge of CIA-I team said that the accused were drug-addicts and used to commit crime to satiate their addiction for heroin.

The arrested accused have been identified as Sandeep, alias Bhola, a resident of Wazirabad village in Mohali and Daljit, alias Billa, a resident of Devi Nagar village in Mohali.


After completion of fourday police remand, the accused were presented before a court, which sent them to judicial custody.


As per the information, earlier these accused were presented in a court on March 23 in connection with a case of snatching committed by them on January 17.


“With the arrests of these two accused, we have solved seven cases of snatching. The accused used to commit crime to serve their needs of drugs,” CIA-1 in-charge inspector Sandeep Kumar.
