Sitaram Yechury objects to EC's ruling on PM Modi's address
TNN | Mar 31, 2019, 02:24 ISTNEW DELHI: A day after the Election Commission ruled that PM Modi's national address on "Mission Shakti" was not in violation of the model code of conduct, CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury has written back to the commission and dubbed its decision a "narrow interpretation" of his complaint.
The CPM leader said Modi's address during the election campaign was a "gross misuse" of the PM's office and added that the EC "had confined itself exclusively to the issue of "misuse of official media". "Soon after the speech, the PM is on record to claim that he is a 'chowkidar' not only on land and air but also in outer space," Yechury wrote. TNN
