Six baby elephants rescued from mud pond in Thailand

(ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION) Thai officials rescued six baby elephants trapped in a muddy pond on Thursday (March 28), after they were found stuck and unable to get out on their own.

Video obtained by Reuters shows Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) officials digging a slope into a muddy pond in Thap Lan National Park, about 160km (100 miles) from Bangkok.

The pachyderms are then seen scurrying up the slope by themselves.

Officials and onlookers are heard cheering as the last elephant finds its feet on solid ground.
