The thrilling tie between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Chinnaswamy Stadium yesterday became a topic of discussion after on-field umpires failed to spot Lasith Malinga’s no-ball. The delivery, which was the final delivery of the game, could have changed the result of the match as RCB lost by just six runs to MI in the end.

RCB needed six runs off the last ball to take the match to a super over. Shivam Dube could only score one run and MI won by 6 runs. However, the replays later showed the delivery was a no-ball and on-field umpire missed to spot that. Many cricketers came out with their responses on the umpiring error which costed RCB the match. While some called it poor umpiring, others urged for better use to technology to spot no-balls. Here are comments of some the cricketers and experts.
In an era of so much technology and with so much at stake NO BALLS should never ever be missed …. #JustSaying #IPL2019

In the world of technology that we live in, a NO BALL like that should NOT happen!
End Of Story!

High quality cricket tonight. Wow!
Yuvi, Hardik, Chahal, Umesh, Virat, AB, Bumrah & Malinga all taking the game to great heights, before it all came crashing down with that last ball no ball miss. Unforgivable mistake.#VIVOIPL2019 #RCBvMI— Sanjay Manjrekar (@sanjaymanjrekar) March 28, 2019
Technology should be used much more often in cricket … so many front foot no-balls missed all the time in all formats and only checked on dismissal. Should be as simple as 3rd umpire telling the umpire through ear piece that a no ball has been bowled.

It would have been better if Shivam Dube was out on the last ball, seems like that is the only way umpires would have checked the #noball

RCB skipper Virat Kohli also criticised umpires for their poor decision saying that they should have been more careful at the moment. MI captain Rohit Sharma said that such mistakes by umpires are not good for the game because such moments are game changers.
