Music show ‘Tere Bina Jiya Jaye Na’ regales audience

Nagpur: Admirers of Bollywood songs from the golden era were entertained by the group ‘Sound of Music’ on Friday. The musical extravaganza, conceptualized by founder of the group Babubhai Patel, was held at Utkarsh Hall, Mor Hindi Bhavan, Sitabuldi.
Patel commenced the show titled ‘Tere Bina Jiya Jaye Na’ with the rendition of ‘Yaad na jaye beete dino ki’, originally sung by legendary playback singer Mohammed Rafi. Next on the stage was Dilip Gadve who presented another Rafi song, ‘Tum mujhe yun bhula na paoge’. Versatile singer Asha Bhosle’s song ‘Aaiye meherbaan’ was sung by Manisha Wasnik.

The duet performances were well received by the audience. Amar Ambekar and Bhagyashree Kulkarni presented ‘Aap ki ankhon mein’. Seema Luha and Aakash Patel sung the evergreen ‘Baazigar o baazigar’. ‘Zara sa jhoom lu main’ by Neetu Kewalramani and Aakash was the favourite among the crowd. T Balakrushnan and Jaya Dabhekar presented soulful performance on ‘Jo wada kiya woh nibhana padega’.

Kulkarni charmed the listeners with her performance on the title song, ‘Tere bina jiya jaye na’.

‘Mere jeevan saathi’, ‘Kya hua tera wada’, ‘Saat samandar paar’, ‘Suhaani chandni raatein’, ‘Mere dholna’, ‘Akele hai chale aao’, ‘Yeh mulakat ek bahana hai’, ‘Ab ke sajan saavan mein’ and ‘Bechara dil kya kare’ struck a chord with the audience.

The room was filled with nostalgia with songs like ‘Pukarta chala hu main’, ‘Pyar hua chupke se’, ‘Tum aa gaye ho’, ‘Aa jaane ja’, ‘Khilte hai gul yaha’, ‘Mere pyar ki umar’, ‘O mere dil ke chain’, ‘Dil deewana’ and ‘Tum itna jo’.

The other singers were Debjeeta Chaterjee, Piyush Shinde, Sanjay Pillay, Keerti Patel and Umesh Patel.

Kewalramani hosted the show while Pillay was the coordinator.
