The start-up culture has picked up in metro cities, but it is yet to take-off in the tire-II cities like Indore. Youth of metro cities are getting drawn to launch start-ups over preparing for civil services. They are increasingly getting help from like large corporate houses like Tata, Reliance.
Similarly, the large units of Pithampur can also support and mentor the entrepreneurs of Indore in launching start-ups. Said Srikant Sastri, founder of Chalo Start Up, an active angel investor while talking to this correspondent. Sastri is renowned among tech start-ups as a start-up mentor. He was in the city to deliver a key note address at an Entrepreneurship Conclave on Thursday. He highlighted all aspects of the start-ups and state of its culture in states.
Alumni of IIT Kanpur and IIM Kolkata, Sastri said in metro cities a suitable eco-system of mentors, experienced professionals and angel investors are available there for the start-ups. However, there is nothing like this in states and tire-II cities except Telangana, Maharastra and Andhra Pradesh. In case of Indore, the large units of Pithampur can help a lot to entrepreneur of the city. They can act as a mentors and angel investor too. Even they can give them business.
Experienced mentor Sastri said that the central government is doing a lot of work in this direction, like rolled out start-up India drive, department of science and tehchnology, department of bio-technology is helping. At the states level they can help entrepreneurs by opening the incubation centers.
Telangana model
Making reference to Telangana Sastri it is the leading state in the country in terms of helping the entrepreneurs. If an entrepreneurs reaches to the government will new idea, it asks them to execute at the block level and show the result. Meanwhile its supports the entrepreneurs in every possible manner. The others states should also develop such models to help out young talent.
