A man who spent 32 days in jail after his pediatrician wife falsely accused him of rape will sue for half a million dollars.
The Sydney man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been acquitted of all his charges including assault and domestic violence.
His wife had accused him of the crimes months after the pair experienced troubles in their marriage due to her long-term abuse of the prescription painkiller Tramadol, news.com.au reported.

The charges were dropped after a Sydney District Court judge issued a rare Prasad Direction, which allows a jury to find a defendant not guilty at any time after the close of the Crown case.
The court heard during the man's 10-day trial that his now ex-wife had prescribed herself the pills using his name for five years, to avoid getting caught.
In May 2015, the man discovered explicit text messages between his wife and a man from London.
He threw his wife's mobile phone through the front door of their home, smashing the screen and was charged with one count of domestic violence.
The second count of domestic violence involved a sarcastic email he sent to his wife of an explicit photo she had sent to him, which suggested she was the type of woman the London man wanted, the publication reported.
He initially pleaded guilty to the two counts of domestic violence, which the judge dismissed.

The woman had moved out and told police he had raped her three times after she went to visit the dogs where he lived in June, 2015.
But the claims proved to be made up through cameras she was unaware had been installed and instead showed the pair had consensual intercourse.
She sent him a text message wishing him a 'safe flight' days before he flew to Europe then reported false claims of rape, assault and domestic violence to police officers in Sydney's north shore.
Police arrested him at Sydney Airport in August 2015, where they also seized his laptop, iPod and hard drive.

The judge who acquitted the man said prosecutors had failed to take into account evidence which backed up the man.
Cops, judges and jurors worked on the case for two years, costing tax payers more than a million dollars.
The man's legal claim, obtained by news.com.au, states the defendants include police, the NSW Director of Public Prosecutions and his ex-wife.
His legal team do not have an exact figure for his compensation but estimated about half a million dollars.
