FRANKFURT -- Volkswagen Group has named Heiner Lanze as head of procurement at its its newly-reorganized components division.
VW Group turned its components manufacturing operations into an independent corporate unit on Jan. 1 to improve efficiency and generate savings for projects including electrification.
The business is one of the word's largest parts makers. It is an in-house supplier of components including engines, gearboxes, electric drive systems, steering systems and seats with 61 factories worldwide.
Lanze, 56, has spent his career at in purchasing and controlling at VW Group operations in Germany and Latin America, most recentely based in Brazil as procurement head for VW in South America. He succeeds Stephan Beyse, who becomes procurement chief at VW's Genuine Parts unit in Kassel, Germany.
