With about six weeks of Lent, many Catholics (and other Christians) who follow the tradition of abstaining from eating meat on Fridays may be on the hunt for a good fish meal nearby. We asked around for some good go-to fish places throughout Wicked Local / Eastern Massachusetts. Here, you'll find a map to show you the way.

Ash Wednesday marked the start of Lent, a time when, among other things, many Catholics (and other Christians) who follow the tradition abstain from eating meat on Fridays. There are six Fridays until Lent ends on April 18, and with so many restaurants offering delicious fish and seafood in the region, you may want to try a different place each time! We asked around last year for some good go-to fish places throughout Wicked Local. A couple have since closed and some more have opened. Here, you'll find a map to show you the way.

These restaurants offer fish all year round and you don't have to be Catholic to eat fish on a Friday - or any day of the week!

Did we leave your favorite fish joint off the map? Email Nicole Simmons with the name and location of the restaurant: nsimmons@wickedlocal.com.
