18 year-old who crashed into tanker on A470 Cross Foxes may have 'nodded off' at the wheel

A teenager who died in a “catastrophic” accident when his car crashed into a 40 tonne tanker may have “nodded off” at the wheel, an inquest heard. Ryan John Craddock, 18, from the Cannock area of Stafford, died when his black Seat Ibiza crashed into a Mansel Davies tanker on the A470 in Dolgellau , near the Cross Foxes pub on July 1 last year. At an inquest in Caernarfon today, coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones concluded that the teen died of multiple traumatic injuries including a skull fracture as a result of the accident.

High Court boost for Old Colwyn quarry homes plan

Plans to build up to 100 new homes on the site of a stone quarry in Old Colwyn have been boosted by a High Court ruling. The Plas Gwilym Quarry covers almost 11 acres, but is now being targeted for development by Renew Land Developments Ltd. The project has the support of social housing provider, Cartrefi Conwy,but planning permission was refused by Conwy County Borough Council.

BBC's My Autistic Big Brother and Me - the moving documentary that's been reducing viewers to tears

A man has made a moving documentary about life with a severely autistic brother and how climbing mountains turns him into a “powerhouse.”

Mikey Kay’s production tells the story of his 47-year-old sibling, Spencer, who finds his peace in epic walks across the majestic, rugged Welsh terrain.

For Spencer, everyday tasks can be a huge challenge, and he is unable to wash, dress or feed himself and he has a cognitive age of around three years old.

Weather forecast

Temperatures are set to rise to 19C in the UK today - but it’s not good news for everyone. The Met Office is predicting another lovely day in North Wales today in a week where temperatures have remained in the low to mid teens. Conditions will remain warm today after temperatures of around 15C were recorded throughout North Wales. Forecasters believe that temperatures will be around 16C today in North Wales - hotter than Istanbul and Athens. Nationally, it could reach 19C in places.

Congestion on A483 Wrexham Bypass Northbound before A55 J38 (Posthouse roundabout). There’s also a bit of fog around this area today.
