Alleged serial rapist and murderer, Rehan Qureshi, who targetted minor children, has approached the Bombay High Court seeking a transfer of his 20 odd casesregistered across Navi Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Mumbai to be tried before one judge at Mumbai Sessions Court.

Qureshi, in his petition filed through Advocate Adil Khatri, said, "The crimes registered against the petitioner are not based on any strong evidence. He is an innocent person and he is being wrongly framed by the Maharashtra Police in unsolved cases filed against unknown persons."

Khatri said, "The plea seeks to transfer cases to Mumbai Sessions Court, and simultaneously try all cases filed against him before the same judge. Further, the plea states that in cases where charge sheets have not been yet filed, the prosecution will become alert and mould and modify their story and destroy evidence in support of the petitioner, based on trials going on in a few selected cases. In this scenario, it will cause great loss and hardship to the accused to prove his innocence."

Qureshi is presently lodged inside the Taloja prison. Charges in a few cases have been framed against him and the trial is yet to begin.
