Share market update: Bank shares rally; Bank of Baroda gains over 2%

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.28 per cent up at 30,105.15 around 10:46 am.

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading in the positive zone in Thursday's morning session.

Shares of Bank of Baroda (up 2.43 per cent), YES Bank (up 1.62 per cent), RBL Bank (up 1.57 per cent) and Punjab National Bank (up 1.28 per cent) were trading with gains.

State Bank of India (up 0.87 per cent), Axis Bank (up 0.68 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 0.46 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.42 per cent) too were trading higher.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.28 per cent up at 30,105.15 around 10:46 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 52.40 points at 11,497.45 while the BSE Sensex was up 160.69 points at 38,293.57.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, L&T Fin Holding, SBI, NTPC, Bank of Baroda, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company, Indian Oil Corp, Tata Motors, BHEL and DLF were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
