This 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Has Been Driven Just 215 Miles

Pontiac has been dead for nearly a decade, but a virtually brand new Firebird Trans Am has been listed on eBay.

Driven just 215 miles (346 km) in the past 17 years, the 2002 Trans Am is an automotive time capsule. The listing is light on specifics, but the original window sticker says the convertible has air conditioning, cruise control and power windows / locks. Drivers will also find leather upholstery, a six-way power driver’s seat and an 8-speaker Monsoon audio system.

The muscle car has been equipped with several options including traction control and a Hurst shifter. It also features the Ram Air Performance and Handling package which adds a ram air hood, a special dual exhaust system and a cooler for the power steering system – among other thing.

Interestingly, this isn’t just an ordinary Trans Am either. Instead, it’s a 35th Anniversary Edition which was created by a little known company called GMMG.

The firm installed an assortment of other upgrades including a cat back exhaust, a high flow air box, slotted brake rotors and 1.5-inch lowering springs. The 5.7-liter V8 engine has also been upgraded to produce 380 hp (283 kW / 385 PS) and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque – an increase of 55 hp (41 kW / 56 PS) and 50 lb-ft (68 Nm).

Other additions include hood stripes, special floor mats and 17-inch HRE wheels. The model also has unique gauges and a plaque on the center console.

The 35th Anniversary package added $10,630 to the price of the Trans Am and this drove the sticker up to $47,130. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ inflation calculator reveals that’s nearly $67,270 in today’s money.

The car has a Buy It Now price of $55,000 and that seems like a lot for a relatively recent muscle car. In fact, there’s a couple of other low mileage Trans Am WS6s going for less than $20,000 on eBay.
