A 40-year-old woman was allegedly set on fire by her brother-in-law, his wife and two others following an argument in Aerodrome area. Police have booked accused on charges of attempt to murder and arrested them on Wednesday. The accused who doubted woman’s character an argument with her.
Aerodrome police station incharge Ashok Patidar said incident took place in Bohra Colony on Tuesday night. Victim Jamnabai Chouhan was rushed to hospital by her family members after she was set on fire by four persons named Amar Singh Chouhan, his wife Sharda, relative Durga and a youth. She is undergoing treatment in MY hospital with 45 percent burn injuries. Accused Amar is elder brother of Jamna’s husband. They are neighbours.
Relative Rina lodged a complaint that accused started an argument with Jamnabai. They were blaming her character and abused her when she objected them. Soon, two of their accomplices reached there and set Jamnabai on fire after pouring kerosene on her body.
Accused fled the scene after committing crime. Rina with help of local residents took Jamnabai to hospital and informed the police. TI Patidar said that a case under Sections 307, 294, 34 of IPC has been registered against the accused. Preliminary investigation revealed that accused used to fight with Jamnabai over petty issues. Further investigation is on.
Woman attacked by man
A person attacked a woman after she refused to give him money for liquor in Pandharinath area. According to police, Mohanpura resident Irfana Bi stated in her complaint that accused Omprakash reached her house and asked to lend him Rs 200 for liquor. As she refused, he argued with her and attacked her due to which she received injury on her head. Woman’s husband and neighbours reached house. The accused fled after threatening victim.
