FALL RIVER — Police said a 23-year-old is expected to survive after he was stabbed multiple times on Lapham Street on Wednesday evening, and the department is searching for a suspect.

According to Fall River police, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Deandre Haskett, 19, in connection with the stabbing, which happened at about 10:30 p.m.

Police were called to Saint Anne’s Hospital, where they interviewed the victim, said Lt. Gil Costa. Haskett and the victim know each other, he said.

The victim’s injuries are not-life threatening, he said. The stabbing occurred outside a residence at 40 Lapham St.
