Skoda Karoq And Kodiaq Gain 190 PS 2.0-liter TSI With DSG ‘Box, AWD

With demand for petrol engines on the rise in the UK, Skoda has decided to introduce a new 2.0-liter TSI 190 PS (187 HP) unit to both the Karoq as well as the Kodiaq, improving performance and refinement.

Karoq buyers can opt for this new engine only on SportLine versions, with prices starting from £31,820 OTR ($41,993). The engine also produces 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque between 1,400 and 4,100 rpm, and is coupled to a seven-speed DSG gearbox and four wheel drive.

In a straight line, it can help the crossover sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7 seconds flat, making the SportLine the fastest model in the Karoq range. As for fuel consumption, Skoda expects returns of 33.2 – 32.1 mpg (8.5 – 8.8 l/100 km) on the WLTP combined cycle, with 158g/km of CO2 being released into the atmosphere.

As for the Kodiaq, you can get this engine on SE L, Scout, SportLine, Edition and L&K equipment levels, with the seven-speed DSG automatic and the four-wheel drive system fitted as standard. Prices kick off from £34,120 OTR ($45,028) for the seven-seat SE L model, and can reach £38,770 OTR ($51,164) for the seven-seat L&K version.

The larger Kodiaq needs 7.7 seconds to hit 100 km/h from a standstill, while fuel consumption varies across the range, with the SE L being the most frugal, returning 31.7 – 30.1 mpg (8.9 – 9.4 l/100km) on the WLTP combined cycle. CO2 emissions for this model are 162g/km.

UK buyers can begin placing orders for this engine across both Karoq and Kodiaq ranges effective immediately.
