Greater Noida: A 40-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the balcony on the 16th floor in tower 4 of Nirala Estate society located in Greater Noida’s Bisrakh area on Tuesday around 11.30 pm.
The man has been identified as Sunil Kumar, a resident of Sector 22. Kumar worked as a service agent of electronic goods in Noida. On Monday, he visited his sister’s house and allegedly committed suicide there the next day. His brother-in-law Munna Gupta said that Kumar had been living separately from his wife and children for the past seven years after a domestic discord and was suffering from depression. “He was suffering from depression because his married life was not going well. On Tuesday night after having dinner, my wife and I went to bed while he was awake. I do not know when he got out of the main gate and jumped off the balcony. We only came to know about his death when the guard spotted the body and informed us,” he said.
Gupta immediately informed the police about the alleged suicide. “Prima facie, the man took the extreme step after being isolated from his family, however, no suicide note has been found from the spot. We have sent the body for autopsy,” said Manoj Pathak, the SHO of Bisrakh police station.
No complaint has been filed in the case yet.
