Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is to have dinner with legendary Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson .

The German is currently leading the Reds’ charge for their first ever Premier League title and their first top flight crown since 1990.

But Klopp will have an evening off when he sits down for a meal with Ferguson.

The two have raised £100,000 for the NHS as Betfred owner Fred Done won the chance to have dinner with them both.

The prize was sold off at Ferguson’s charity dinner and auction last Friday at the Manchester Hilton.

Ferguson wanted to raise money for the NHS following his life-saving treatment for a brain haemorrhage last May.

The 77-year-old was rushed for emergency surgery after a seizure at home in Cheshire and ultimately placed in an induced coma, spending four days in intensive care.

He has since made a full recovery, though, and a quarter of the money raised on Friday night was down to the ex-United manager and Klopp putting their club rivalries and allegiances aside.

It is not known exactly when the two and Done will go for dinner, but the night has been lined up in Manchester report the Daily Star .

They are likely to discuss all-things-football in what would be a unique experience for any fan.

Ferguson had already retired more than two years before Klopp arrived at Anfield, so they never had the chance to forge a Premier League rivalry.

While manager of Mainz and Borussia Dortmund, too, Klopp’s Bundesliga teams never played against United in Europe.

But given Klopp is on the verge of bringing back the glory days to last season’s Champions League finalists Liverpool, Ferguson will be sure to have an interesting evening with the charismatic manager.

Ferguson’s former forward at Old Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, did manage to put a dent in Klopp’s title dreams last month.

The interim United boss saw his injury-ravaged team battle out a 0-0 draw with Liverpool in Manchester on February 24.

One possibility the pair could discuss at dinner, though, is the prospect of a Champions League semi-final tie between Liverpool and United.
