Two more accused have been arrested by the Gurugram police in connection with the attack on a Muslim family in Bhondsi police station area here last week. Ten people have been arrested in connection with the case so far, said the police.
The two have been identified as Lalit (27), and Rohit (26). Both are residents of Naya Gaon. Gurugram Police spokesperson Subhash Boken said that efforts are being made to arrest the remaining accused.
More than a dozen unidentified men allegedly armed with weapons, sticks and iron rods had attacked the family on March 21. The family had claimed that the accused hurled religious slurs at them and told them to go to Pakistan. One of the victims, Dilshad, in the complaint said the assailants forcibly entered their house and brutally thrashed the men, women and children.
Mr. Boken said that a scuffle broke out between the two groups over playing cricket in the same ground and there was no communal angle to it.
