Railway staff to get service record at finger tips
TNN | Mar 27, 2019, 14:23 ISTNAGPUR: Now service record of the Nagpur Central Railway employees will be available at finger tips. The personnel department has launched a module digital display of service register of employees.
The module was launched by principal chief personnel officer N Swaminathan and divisional railway manager Somesh Kumar on March 22. Both also launched an E-Pass module to get rid of manual system.
“We have scanned and stored service records of employees of the division in hard disks. Employees can download their records through web application. It will be accessible through OTP generated and sent to their registered mobile number,” said senior divisional personnel officer (SrDPO) GV Jagtap.
“As of now employees will only be able to access service record. Their performance and appraisals will be added in next phase. New employees will also be added as soon as they are posted,” Jagtap said.
Nagpur division is only after Pune where employees can view their own service records through a safe and secure medium. This is expected to raise employee empowerment and satisfaction and bring down grievances.
Jagtap said the pass module, which has been developed in-house, consists of online application for various passes by employees as well as retired employees. “This will reduce crowd at the pass section and save on time as employees will only have to come for collecting passes and privilege ticket orders (PTOs) after receiving SMS,” said Jagtap.
By way of default user ID will be 11-digit employee number and password will be date of birth which can be changed after login. Passes/PTOs will be prepared by the system according to eligibility of individual employee. The system will take care of account and there will be no need to maintain separate manual registers.
New employees and pensioners can create their account online without visiting DRM office now. “These initiatives are a step forward towards employees’ welfare and we expect they will benefit immensely,” said Jagtap.
