New Delhi, India’s teenage shooting stars Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary beat the qualification world record before claiming the gold medal in the 10 metre air pistol mixed team event on the first day of the 12th Asian Airgun Championship in Taoyuan, Taipei on Wednesday.
The pair shot a combined 784 in the qualification round, surpassing the record set by the Russia’s Vitalina Batsarashkina and Artem Chernousov at the European Championships just five days back.They won the five-team finals with a score of 484.8.
Hwang Seongeun and Kim Mose of Korea won the silver medal, scoring 481.1 while Wu Chia Ying and Kou Kuan-Ting took the bronze medal for the host country with a score of 413.3.
