Gurgaon: As part of probe into the murder of property dealer Vijay Batra alias Tantrik, the city crime unit on Tuesday reached Rewari to interrogate the three shooters of the Kaushal gang, nabbed by the Rewari unit on Sunday night.
According to the police, one of the three accused has confessed to the murder while the role of the other two is being investigated. Police are now preparing to take the accused on production warrant for questioning.

“Jitender alias Jeetu and Gurpreet alias Jatta are residents of Gurgaon’s Hari Nagar Colony, while Rahul alias Banjara — a sharpshooter, who has confessed to the crime, is a resident of Bhawani Enclave,” said an officer of the Rewari crime unit. On February 22, Vijay was allegedly gunned down by unidentified assailants on the Sohna road. The accused reportedly came in an i20 car and shot Vijay near Pasharvnath Society. According to the police, Vijay, a resident of Park View, was allegedly involved in gambling and betting.

However, the Vijay’s family named gangster Kaushal and his gang as key suspects in the case. Ritu, Vijay’s wife, had alleged that he was getting extortion calls for Rs 25 lakh from the gang.

A few days later, a shooter — Sandeep alias Timepass — allegedly belonging to Kaushal gang, surrendered before the Delhi Police and confessed to have killed Vijay.

During his remand with the Gurgaon police, Sandeep revealed that three more people were involved in the murder. Earlier police had nabbed one of his accomplices — Sujit alias Bullet — in the case. According to the police, at least five people were involved in the crime.

“Sujit and Sandeep are both in judicial custody. The three accused will be taken on remand for questioning soon and we hope to crack the case soon,” a senior police officer said.
